It's small in size covering 2,600 sq kms along Tarangire River with altitude of 1,100 m. It's famous for dense wildlife population, which is most spectacular between June to September, the dry period. During this time animals seen are hartebeest, oryx, buffalo, elephant migrate from dry Masai Mara to Tarangire looking for water and the predators - lion, leopard follows the herds.
